Never dissapoint Ed coming here, be aware it's now cash only, but lots of cash points around. Love the food, the staff and the tea. 100% recommend

As soon as we entered the very busy cafe, we were greeted with if you want cooked food its 25 minutes wait. The way it was put across was that we were inconveniencing an already really busy cafe. So we just had a cream tea. Later, while still at our table with drinks, the bill was placed on our table with a comment we are not hurrying you but when you are ready. 5 minutes later we were asked to move to a different table if we were staying longer. Wow, three times made to feel unwelcome and we were only there around 30 minutes total. I wont be going there again and that was my first experienice in the place. Shame as I was looking forward to ordering an afternoon tea sometime, but now scared to.
The lavender team rooms is always a favourite for my mother and I when I want to treat her to a special lunch. Their meals available are delicious and very generous with regards to portion sizes. The prices are very reasonable and wont break the bank when you go to the till. Service is always friendly and you get left to your own devices unlike cafes where there are waitresses / waiters wanting a big tip. Love this place.
Found the tea rooms by chance - what a find!! Excellent breakfast, friendly staff and 60's & 70's music playing the background. A must visit if your in the area
